I do not know much about that but I will try to relay some facts. Prostrations I was told mean nothing if you do not engage your mind heart and full souls in them. Otherwise, you are just an empty machine trying to fuel on nothing. I made very few full on sessions of prostrations. Only once or twice in one week did I do 108 prostrations in a row. I could not walk for three or four days after that, but still anothe round of prostrations that week. I forget how many the second time. One must be a monk or a nun truly to be doing 108 prostrations every day for two years. I could not do that. Laziness once known cannot fool God. Instead, much much dedication of merit after each offering and happy grateful prayer is a must. Especially when given at last a chance to rest here and there. Meditation and prayer offering must be constant for 2 years, even if 108 prostrations every day is not a possibility from lack of traning in endurance of that sort of mental  or soulful energy. It is REALLY a LOT of work these prostrations. Never do them drunk or you'll fall on your head. (Also never go to a shiatsu masseuse after a night of drinking).

Being so stone all the time made the prostrations very spinny very easily. But that week where I took the resolve to do a full mala of prostrations (reciting Guru Rinpoche's mantra as seen online and in my book The White Lotus), I did them no matter what: sweat, pain, almost falling from exertion...Methodically, carefully (always mindfully) and it did not spin too much that day but boy was it a LOT OF WORK. Truly as much as tonic yoga. I smiled at how in exertion I had conquered  my ego who was so lazy. And was reminded of Guru Rinpoche every time I walked for four  days. Literally. I did another session of prostrations after that 4-5 days, I was hoping to do another full mala. I have a broken vertebrea in my lower back though. And I am TOTALLY out of shape. Prostrations are GOOD EXERCICE for mental and body.
