We visited by train a few european cities back in the 1990s. Toulouse in the south of France then Barcelona, O castro de la barona, Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba (overnight , as seen in picture above), Mazarron (off tourist season so everything was closed but the view of the ocean) and San Diego de la Compostela in Spain. With a detour by  Fez for a week and two days in Chechouan , in Morrocco. Traveling Europe by train was great fun. it was wonderful to see Europe that way and with the occasional hitchhiking. By the way, I had stopped hitchhiking by the early 2000s.

We stayed in youth hostels as was common for all of us. We met in Barcelona (him from germany, me from France) and we parted there too, a few weeks later, after our travels.
