I woke up at 1am and called New Zealand to see if hubby had made it wholesomely there.  He had! He sent me emails since then- he was hopping in the shower and then into bed. It is 21:00 there and BJG has been up for over 44 hours or sleeping in long distance planes.  I am so glad he made it there despite stressful time because of Covid requirements at the Vancouver airport. Now he has 10 days with his dad and sister on a magnificent farm of hers It’s not very long in my mind but it is as long as he wanted to go. He is visiting his dad who just had a tiny home built for himself on his daughters land.
