I am in the process of reworking The flowers floating in your bloodstream (2010-2018).  Brick Books is accepting manuscripts starting next month so i thought I would give it a quick try. I doubt I stand any chances but why not? Plus, it is nice to rework such a long standing manuscript. It is over 50 pages so it qualifies. I will share with you some excerpts.

UPDATE

It is 11:15pm and I have been working on this manuscript revisions for a few hours (all evening). It is a lot of fun and I had not worked that intensely on a book since June 2021. I added Explosion for Freedom (2013 poem) to the book and got rid of an old dated poem ( A break, please, one of my very first poem in Toronto) about  a carriage stuck in the mud (a carriage in this day and age?).

I am drinking decaf coffee and smoking too many cigarettes. Hubby is asleep. I just popped half a sleeping pill since I am quite up after working all evening. I rarely take a sleeping pill but tonight seems like a wise decision. It is very exciting to work on a book all evening but I do want to sleep tonight before 1am. My new schedule since many months is up by 6am-8am. And in bed before 10pm usually. Except occasionnally, like tonight, for one reason or another. Tonight, it is the rewriting of The flowers floating in your bloodstream.

I don't have any opinion about this manuscript. It is one of my first full length English book, one of the oldest. I suspect it is NOT what the editors are looking for but I am hoping to get comments to help improve it, no matter if they do not pick it. Sometimes they do that. When they have time and when they find something special about the book even if they choose not to publish it.
